Companies are slowly understanding that workplace learning isn’t just about training people. While it’s still the core aspect, it’s not the end all, be all. Instead, the new world of learning supports learners on their personal education journey. L&D itself is on a slow journey to provide the support the modern learner needs.
Learning can occur in all kinds of ways in the workplace… and each one must be valued. Organizations must also understand there’s no reason to track the information that people learn. Rather, it’s important to focus on bettering the team, job, and overall company performance.
Learning and Development is starting to not just focus on modernizing training but update their services in order to do two things:
o Support one’s needs and ensure there are independent learning skills
o Encourage supervisors and teams to work and learn together, making sure they share one another’s experience.
I’m excited to be a part of this change and providing value in the new world of the modern learner and workplace learning.
